The Snowtorium
Final Goodbye
The last vista of the Snowtorium, a site specific dance by Cady Cox, Megan Stewart and Kate Kosharek. David Gonzales from TheSnaz.com will be editing footage from the dance to create a video that will last in perpetuity. An unsuspecting tourist group from JH Trail Rides was privy to the site of contemporary dance in Jackson WY, while also witnessing the slow melt of a 20+ ton snow sculpture in June.
Unwrapped!
The Snowtorium was serendipituously constructed on top of the launch site for the 4th of July fireworks. The Snowtorium was unveiled on Monday June 22nd, in the hopes that the fireworks will be launched from within the Snowtorium. The snow is rapidly melting, as 80 degree sunny days tear through the transplanted winter residue.

The Snowtorium is an experimental sculptural installation. The snow is covered with Ice Protector OPTIFORCE® by Landolt, protecting it from heat and UV radiation, largely preventing the snow from melting away. Ice Protector is widely used in Europe to protect certain features of ski areas to open on time. The blankets used in the Snowtorium were provided by Eiger International, reused from a test site in Telluride CO.
