WINTER SOLSTICE ARTIST - SUZANNE MORLOCK
Suzanne Morlock is a mixed media artist living in the Rocky Mountain region. Influenced by growing up and receiving early training as an artist in Los Angeles, she currently looks to the rural surroundings of northwestern Wyoming for a more introspective influence on her work during the last 20 years.
Suzanne began her career as a painter, currently she is more interested in sculpture and installation forms. Lately those materials trend toward recycled, repurposed and reworked materials giving them new life, dimension and meaning.
Suzanne has recently shown her work in Jackson Hole, France and New York City, upcoming exhibits are in Iceland, Poland and France. Suzanne's current artistic interests can be summarized as an exploration of the impermanent nature of sensory experience as well as of the physical, phenomenological world. Her work explores the ephemeral realms of memory, composition and decomposition. Her art objects communicate the unstable tension ever-present in our transitional world.
