Awakening the Conservation Movement: Stories from the Field
For three weeks this summer, The Nature Conservancy's Lead Scientist, Dr. M Sanjayan traveled with future leaders of the Dene First Nation people to explore the Thelon Game Sanctuary and discuss the management of a place that is inextricably bound to their culture, heritage, and future.
These are exactly the voices that need to be brought into the conversation if we are going to reinvigorate the conservation movement. On Tuesday, October 4th, Sanjayan travels to Jackson to share this message and invite you to join the effort to awaken the conservation movement. Please join us at the Craig Thomas Discovery & Visitor Center Auditorium @ 7pm for this free conversation.
For more on the Thelon Expedition, visit the Huffington Post and Cool Green Science. Videos and interviews are also available at PBS. For more on the work of Sanjayan and his colleagues, please visit The Nature Conservancy's website.
