Filmmaker Carrie Noel Richer is the Jackson Digital Media Ambassador. From March 2011 to December 2011 - Richer will focus on highlighting Jackson artist’s creative processes throughout the
valley. Richer will produce, shoot and edit videos for a web gallery
located at the Center of Wonder website (that is here!) This project
will highlight three unique characteristics of Jackson – our incredible
natural surroundings, our vibrant arts community and the concept of TRUE
collaboration. Many of the videos are ready - the entire project will be launched in late December with QR codes that will allow access to the videos throughout Jackson! To watch videos, visit the Digital Media Youtube channel or watch a select few below!
The Center of Wonder,Dancers' Workshop and the Grand Teton Music Festival have generously underwritten Richer’s position as the Digital Media Ambassador. Other contributors to the project are Jackson Hole Pathways, who will fund the signage along the pathways and streets of Jackson. Wink Inc. Productions has supplied some Post-Production equipment for the project and additional equipment was paid for by a micro-grant from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole.
The underwriting organizations of this project - Dancers' Workshop, Center for Wonder and Grand Teton Music Festival, share the goal of exposing our community to true interdisciplinary collaboration, a variety of different artistic processes and highlighting the uniqueness of being an artist in Jackson, Wyoming. This nine month fellowship position follows the very successful tenures of Brigid Sinram as Nature Ambassador and Bland Hoke as Public Art Ambassador.
The online web gallery will be launched in the Fall and will feature 20- 30 short videos within the web gallery. The web gallery will utilize Quick Response codes to bring these videos into our community and expand their reach beyond the virtual world. Imagine that as you walk along the bike path – you come upon a QR code which directs you to a video identifying the very spot as inspiration for a local artist’s composition, dance or painting. Videos will be screened at various live events through the summer - in community screening venues, in the National Parks, at local businesses and store fronts as well as the be located on the web gallery.
