Collaboration Grant Guidelines
Grant Type: Collaboration Grants
Granting Cycles: Every six (6) months
Next Deadline: March 1, 2013
Announcements: Grant awards will be announced April 1, 2013.
Grant Awards: $5,000 (Round 1 Grant) and $5,000-$15,000 (Round 2 Grant).
Please note: Round 2 Grants are reserved for lead organizations that have received funding since March 2012. These grants may be for funding of a continuation or expansion of the first project or a new project.
Grant Requirements:
1) Collaborative: involving three or more non-profit organizations, with each organization playing a substantial and specific role in the partnership. (Be careful not to identify venues or locales as partners unless that role is transformative in some way.)
2) Community Oriented: highly accessible to a broad spectrum of community members.
3) Creative: involving “out of the box” ideas that utilize the visual, digital, or performing arts.
All applicants must be a 501(c)(3) designated organization or be fiscally sponsored by one. At least one applicant organization must have a mission that promotes culture or the arts in Jackson Hole. A 1:1 match is required of all projects.
Grant Documentation:
Applicants will be asked to prepare: (1) a brief project description including the roles and responsibilities of partner organizations, (2) a budget detailing expenses, other funding sources, and how the project meets the 1:1 match, (3) expected outcomes of the project, and (4) a detailed timeline for completion. Please see the Collaboration Grant Application page for the application.
Organizational representatives will be asked to attend up to three meetings with a C3 coordinator:
1. If the grant committee has questions or needs more information about the proposed project, or feasibility of its timeline, a preliminary meeting before grant approval may be requested.
2. A mid-process meeting between the point people and C3 is required. This meeting will help determine if important milestones for the project are being met. The date and time of this will be determined based on the time frame of the project but will occur at least 4 weeks prior to the project’s completion.
3. A final evaluation meeting, involving point people from all participating organizations will also be required. This meeting will occur no more than 10 days after the project’s completion and will replace the need for a written grant report. Documentation of project expenses and accounting will still be necessary. These meetings will be designed to evaluate: the functionality of the process, the ease of the collaboration, as well as the overall success of the project.
